Heather is an experienced and passionate writer and PR professional. Her knowledge of the motorcycle industry played a huge part in her roles at the AMA, both as an associate editor and as assistant manager within the recreational riding department.
In the 3 years that I worked with Heather, I always felt confident in her abilities and her opinions were always well-respected within the organization. Whether she was writing a colorful article for the magazine or a matter-of-fact press release, you could rely on her to provide correct and useful information.
When she moved into her assistant manager position, she was able to dive deeper into recreational riding programs and took ownership of several series such as the LongRider program and the off-road recreational riding series. Not only did she streamline processes but also helped increased exposure for those programs.
Heather is an ambitious, resourceful, organized, and hardworking young professional that I highly recommend for any communications team.
Heather was an excellent intern who has a tremendous grasp of marketing and PR knowledge. Her skill set has furthered the departmental and institutional goals. I would gladly recommend her for any position.
As a Red Cross Donor Recruitment Intern on the Ohio University campus, Heather far exceeded my goals and expectations. She required little to no direction. She was motivated and creative bringing some new ideas to our campus blood drives and they way we recruit and promote them.
Heather was always the epitome of professionalism during presentations and high level administrative meetings. She really did become an extension of me, and I felt comfortable that she was knowledgeable enough to be a superb representative for me and our organization.
Heather is one of those people who is always incredibly busy but seems to get the most done. She ALWAYS met set deadlines. She did not wait to be assigned tasks, but willingly assumed them and often took charge of things herself when others did not.
It is my pleasure to recommend Heather Wilson as a public relations professional. As Heather’s previous supervisor at the American Red Cross, she continually impressed me with her confidence, skills and professionalism.
During her internship in spring 2011, her positive attitude and professional poise made hiring her an easy decision. Heather gives a first impression that is true to her genuine and kind personality, but also reflects her intelligence and excitement to learn. Heather is a quick learner and has a variety of skill sets that will serve her well in the communications field.
While interning at the Red Cross, Heather worked on a variety of projects including news release, event script and feature writing, as well as print material design for a variety of campaigns, events and
promotions. Through each task she would ask questions if needed and complete the project with careful eye, making sure each assignment was finished to the best of her ability. Heather’s willingness to take
on any challenge was noticed and allowed her to grow her communications skills during her time at the Red Cross.
Heather is an outgoing, very well spoken young woman with the ability to lead others when tasked, listen with intent and ask questions when needed. Her eagerness, trustworthiness and dependability are
evident from the moment you meet her. Heather will succeed in public relations without a doubt.
I had the pleasure of teaching Heather’s Strategic Social Media class at Ohio University, and I found her to be a hardworking, diligent student. Her final project–a truly actionable social media plan and policy for a local college–was superlative. She has a bright future in PR and social media.
